PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

The Fairfax Foundation’s purpose is to advance the health, education and welfare of  people who work in, or have previously worked in, the media industry in Australia and their families. Financial support is provided to eligible applicants, including former employees and their families, who are in need and to assist with specific costs.

New Wellbeing Grants

The new Wellbeing Grants Program supports eligible applicants by providing funding for activities or services that contribute to improved wellbeing, capability and build resilience.

Personal Development Grants

The special $300 Personal Development Grant is now closed. If you need further assistance please contact us at applications@fairfaxfoundation.com.au for more information on the support available to eligible applicants.

Disaster Assistance Grant – Floods

Employees, former employees and their dependants who are affected by the floods can contact the Fairfax Foundation for immediate financial assistance. Disaster Assistance Grants of $1,000 are available for those who have been forced to evacuate their homes due to the floods.

Education Grants

The Foundation recognises the start of the school year can be challenging for some families with costs for education expenses and additional needs increasing. Eligible applicants can apply for financial assistance in the form of Education Grants for their dependants.

New Foundation Trustees

New employee elected and company appointed trustees have joined the Fairfax Foundation Board of Trustees. Rachel Launders, General Counsel and Company Secretary of Nine is Chair of the Fairfax Foundation. More details are available on the About Us page.

Wave Resort Booking Information

Bookings for the Wave Resort open at the beginning of the month one year in advance. Availability is limited due to the high demand and the apartments are often fully booked very quickly.
Bookings for the Christmas holiday period December – January at the Wave Resort will be done via ballot. Details on how to enter will be posted  here mid July, on Workplace and circulated via Staff Notices so you won’t miss it! The ballot will close 31st July with successful staff notified within 3 days of closing date.
